Welcome to the Cambridge University 3D Printing Society webpage!

We are a student society dedicated to 3D printing and other types of rapid prototyping; and are always looking for new members to join us!

Last year, our major project was to design and build a “Heath Robinson-style” contraption for display in the Heath Robinson Museum, London. The finished contraption, scheduled for completion during Michaelmas 2018, aims to showcase design for 3D printing and will incorporate 3D printed and laser-cut components, electronics, and an aluminium-framed display cabinet – all designed and built by the society.

New for this academic year is our Freshers’ Project: a mini-project at the beginning of Michaelmas, aimed at helping new members get to grips with using the Dyson Centre’s CAD software and 3D printers.

We are currently looking into other potential projects for this academic year (so are open to suggestions!) and are always keen to help out with any 3D printing questions you may have for your own personal projects.

Send your ideas and queries by email to Ben (bsy21), Roy (rcn27) or James (jpr55), or come along to our weekly meeting held in the Dyson Centre every Wednesday at 14:00 during term time. No previous experience is needed to join in!

Check out our Facebook page here, or follow us on Twitter (@cu3d_soc) or Instagram (cu3d_soc).

You can subscribe to the CU3D mailing list here.
