Online Orders for Projects
The Engineering Department has an approved set of suppliers we order from via the online system the Engineering Department Requisitions System (EDRS). It's available to all staff and postgraduate students but not undergraduates.
If student societies have any academics, postgraduate students or support staff associated with them, they can ask them to order through the system.
Failing that, email dyson-helpdesk@eng.cam.ac.uk with your society job number and a link to the item and we can submit the requisition.
Some useful suppliers available through EDRS are
- RS Online - Useful for general tools and equipment
- Rapid Online - Similar to RS but often a bit cheaper
- Farnell UK - Another general supplier
- CPC Farnell - Very useful for a wide range of tools and equipment and often very affordable
- Banner Office Supplies - Great for stationary and other office equipment
- Hobarts Laser Materials - Our go-to supplier for materials to laser cut
- DigiKey - Great for electronics components
- Fisher Scientific - Good for chemical related purchases
Read the department guidance for undergraduate purchasing here
If you can't find the item you need or something similar using the above suppliers, then it's possible to buy from other websites using a department credit card. Email dyson-helpdesk@eng.cam.ac.uk for details.
