Sheet Metal Work

We have production quality sheet metal working equipment in the Dyson Centre. Students use it in their first year Structural Design Course and undergraduates in any year are welcome to use the equipment for society and personal projects.

Key Info

  • Scrap aluminium and Steel is available free of charge, just ask at the desk
  • Larger sheets, rods and box section can be bought from the department store
  • A technician will train you on any machine you need to use for your project if it's been more than a year since you last used it

To Get Started

  1. Come to the Dyson Centre front desk and ask a technician for advise on what machines you will need for your project
  2. A technician will induct you on the machines as you work on the project
