Storage in the Dyson Centre
When undertaking practical work in the Dyson Centre, we expect people to
- Put away the tools they've used
- Sweep the desk of debris
- Take home their project and any materials they've purchased
Anything left on the workbenches overnight will be disposed of or taken into general storage.

Crates
There are 64 really useful boxes for undergraduates and societies to use for up to a year. They are specifically for storing ongoing project work being carried out in the Dyson Centre.
The internal dimensions are
380mm x 320mm x 285mm
They are in high demand, but email dyson-helpdesk@eng.cam.ac.uk to see if any are available, or ask at the desk.

Crate and Cupboard Maintenance
With the turnover of students and society committees, cupboards can easily fill up with redundant items and scrap materials from previous years. If you no longer need something, for example a half used sheet of laser ply, we suggest asking a Dyson technician to put it in then general storage so it can be used.
Cupboards must be closable and not have things cascading out on to the floor.
Every new committee must sort through their storage before the start of the academic year to check there are no hazardous materials in the cupboard. These must be stored in our chemicals cabinets or a battery safe box.
