The Dyson Centre has a set of 16 'high power' computer workstations, with twin screens, available for use, as well as a few other PCs.

Details of what is installed on which machine will follow here shortly.

(Machine names to be confirmed. Request for labelling of machines submitted.)

To request additional software be installed on these machines, please . In your request, please try to include where to obtain the software from. If the software is freely available, please try to include proof that we are legitimately allowed to install it on our machines.

We have had requests for:

  • Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 (CUED Helpdesk ticket 281684)
  • KiCAD 4.0.1: http://kicad-pcb.org/download/ (CUED Helpdesk ticket 281525)
  • gcc-arm-embedded: https://launchpad.net/gcc-arm-embedded (CUED Helpdesk ticket 281525)
  • Git / github desktop: https://desktop.github.com/ (CUED Helpdesk ticket 281525)
  • Linux (possibly CentOS 7) is being discussed prior to submitting a request. We do not yet know how this request will be received. If you have views, please contact the Centre Manager on rlr20.
