If you are looking to bend plastics, namely Acrylic, then the Hot Wire Bender is the machine for you.

This machine works by heating up a line along the length of the material to a temperature that allows it to become malleable. Once warmed, the material is removed from the machine and then bent to the angle that is required. The material is held at the desired angle until it cools and becomes fixed at the new angle. If at any point something has gone wrong the acrylic sheet can usually be placed back into the machine to be heated and bent again.

When using the hot wire bender you will be doing so alongside a technician as the machine can be difficult to use and larger sheets of material can be tricky for just one person to handle without lots of practice.

If you would like to use the hot wire bender, or just want to find out more information about the machine and it's uses, then please send us an email and we will arrange a time and date that works for us both. Alternatively, just come to the Dyson Centre Managers desk and have a chat to us in person.
